Tyco Electronics has released a new IDC solid state lighting (SSL) connector, said to offer quick, tool-less termination of discrete wires onto LED PCBs. Laird Technologies has released its enhanced Tlam SS LLD for use as a thermally conductive printed circuit board (PCB) substrate specifically designed for heat dissipation in bright and ultra-bright LED module applications. The thermally conductive PCB substrate is said to provide eight to 10 times the heat dissipation compared to conventional FR4-based PCBs, which is key for keeping components cool.
