2001 introduces 192GB flash drives from Transcend. Available in 2.5in case sizes, these solid state drive products have a standard SATA interface, making them ideal for most types of industrial embedded applications.
Described as a drop-in replacement for conventional hard disk drives, SSDs boast instant access, large capacity, high reliability and low power consumption. Solid-state memory has no moving parts and is therefore unaffected by mechanical failure resulting from vibration, shock or heat. The SATA interface delivers higher data transfer rates than standard IDE and ensures compatibility with high performance CPU motherboards and single board computers (SBCs).
With a thickness of only 9.5mm, the Transcend range is ideal for industrial applications where size and reliability are a premium. Error correction code (ECC) functionality aids reliable data transfer and increases overall system integrity. Built-in wear levelling technology also ensures long life and data-retention durability. With no moving parts, noise is minimal and less power is needed for operation, generating less heat.
How good is your memory?
